, the former home of the Hilton Head Seniors International from 1982 to 1984, was rated as one of the finest layouts on the Senior PGA Tour. The 27-hole layout wanders through tall pines, magnolias and moss-draped oaks. Adding to the beauty and character of the course are many lagoons and ponds, which must be negotiated if you are to play to your handicap. Hardly a day passes without seeing an alligator or two on the banks of these winding lagoons!
Accurate tee shots and well-measured approaches are a must on this championship course. Most of the greens are large and well-bunkered and their undulating surfaces demand a delicate touch.
Two of the three inter-connecting nines are combined for a unique and challenging 18-hole round. The original two nines were Clipper and Galleon, while Brigantine was added at a later date.
