Carolina Crossing Golf Club, located in York, South Carolina, is an eighteen-hole semi-private championship golf course. The course offers a challenging layout in a park-like setting with Bermuda grass fairways and Bermuda greens. Carolina Crossing Golf Club has replaced all of the bunckers as well as adding 11 additional ones. Several old trees have been cut to widen the fairways as well as to bring in more sunlight and air circulation to the greens. Renovations to the clubhouse and grill room are complete. The 3500 sq. ft. Banquet Room is available for Private Parties, Tournaments, Class Reunions, Wedding Receptions, ect. All of which can be catered by our fully equiped kitchen.
Carolina Crossing Golf Club began as a nine hole course in 1970 and was developed based upon a course seen overseas in Japan by the owner, Gerald Downs. In 1972 the course was transformed into an eighteen hole championship course, and into the layout players see today. The former Carolina Downs Country Club was opened to the public as Carolina Crossing Golf Club in 2004 after the former owner became gravely ill and was forced to sell because of his health. After the passing of her husband and two failed attempts to sell, the widow of Gerald Downs, Judy bought the course back. She wishes to thank all her old and new friends for their support and encouragement and hopes to bring a new atmosphere of hospitality and graciousness with plans for a beautiful area for all to enjoy!
