Charles T. Myers Golf Course is one of Charlotte's hidden gems. It is located a little off the beaten path but definitely worth visiting. Located on the former Harrisburg Road Landfill, which was operated by Mecklenburg County until 1994, the facility bears the name of County Commissioner Charles T. Myers, who during his tenure (1969-70), led the initiative to make the final use of this land a public golf course.
NOTE: Golfers must call course book tee time at least 4 hrs in advance and identify they are using a Clickitgolf.com voucher as form of payment. Golfers must print and present physical voucher at check - in.
His commitment and leadership is responsible for the existence of this beautiful public property enjoyed by thousands of visitors each year. In 1997 the facility expanded from it's original 9-holes to 18-holes. The front 9-holes were built in 1986.
Two of the four par threes require you to carry a pond making them pivotal holes if you are going to post a good score. Hole number twelve boasts the highest elevation in Mecklenburg County. Wind can play a key component on several holes due to the elevation. On the par three number four you may choose any one of four different clubs depending on the wind conditions that particular day. You won't see any houses on this course but you may encounter plenty of wildlife such as ducks, turkeys, deer, hawks, turtles or geese.
