Kerr Lake Country Club, located in Henderson, NC, is a par-72, 6,530-yard layout, which opened in 1965. The original course is the back nine holes. The front nine was added later to make the existing eighteen hole layout. Because the two nines were built at different times, the greens on the front nine are smaller than the greens on the back. The course is predominantly flat, but there are some hills that can cause uneven lies. There are two ponds that come into play on four holes, and other water hazards affect holes #14 and #16. Greenside sand bunkers have been added to fourteen of the eighteen holes, many of which are difficult to get out of.
